Asterix & Obelix v1.0

Overview: The year is 50 B.C. Gaul is entirely occupied by the Romans. Well, not entirely.

One small village of indomitable Gauls still holds out against the invadors. And life is not easy for the Roman legionaries who garrison the fortified camps of Totorum, Aquarium, Laudanum and Compendium.

A Students Project

Asterix & Obelix for Android is a jump'n'run demo developed by two master students at the Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences in the program Mobile Computing. The player controls Asterix through different levels in order to conquer the evil Romans who kidnapped the beautiful Falbala. Besides fighting Romans, players have to collect various power-ups for increasing their high score like magic potions. But be careful, you only have a certain limit of time to complete a level.

Technology

The game is based on libGDX (Libgdx - Desktop/Android/HTML5 Game Development), a cross-platform framework developed by the Austrian game developer Mario Zechner. Moreover, the game makes use of the physics engine Box2D (Box2D | A 2D Physics Engine for Games) to provide more realistic character movement. Thanks to libGDX, the game is also available for Linux, MacOS and Windows.
